Event Title: Siltcoos Lake Steamboat Meet
Where: Siltcoos Lake, Westlake Resort, Dune City, Oregon
Friday, September 7, 2012
Just a few miles down the road from Florence on the Oregon Coast this is really steamboating country. Quiet, a minimum of 50mph-plastic-godda**its running around, good accommodations. If you miss out on this one, you've missed one of the best meets around. The date was moved from July to September to avoid the constant strong winds which plague the Oregon Coast in July/August. The Westlake Resort has a website at: http://www.westlakeresort.com/. There is additional information about the meet at http://www.northweststeamsociety.org/Pages/2012InformationForSiltcoosMeet.pdf

Event Title: Annual Lee's Mill Steamboat Meet
Where: Town Docks, Lake Winnepesaukee, Moultonborough, NH
Friday, September 7, 2012
This is probably the largest (in number of steamboats present) meet in the USA. Usually over 50 steamboats on a large lake with lots of good cruising. Not a lot to do except: look at steamboats, talk about steamboats, ride on steamboats... and generally tell lies.
It is a bit difficult to find. Driving directions are: From either Route 25 or 109 in Moultonborough follow signs to Loon Center. Continue past the Loon Center down to the end of the road to arrive at Lee's Mills dock on Lake Winnepesaukee. The map below helps.
